Variegated Aucuba

(Aucuba japonica 'Variegata')

Grown for its colorful foliage which it retains year-round AND for its ability to thrive in shade - even HEAVY SHADE.

Plant alone as a specimen or space 3-4' apart when planting in groups of three or more in the border. GOLD and GREEN leaves really brighten shady spots in the garden.

Variegated Aucuba matures at 4-5' tall and wide. May easily be maintained at 3-4' tall and wide with once-a-year trimming anytime between March and August.

Expect 6-12" of growth a year.

Plant in a spot which receives a bit of shade from the hottest part of the afternoon Summer sun or even in quite heavy shade.
